Embark on a captivating journey through centuries of regal history with our exclusive guided tour of the Fontainebleau Castle. Nestled in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest, this architectural masterpiece invites you to witness over eight centuries of royal and imperial grandeur.
The meeting point will be determined at the time of booking, whether you wish to meet me in Paris or directly in Fontainebleau.
Once in the Cour du Cheval Blanc, by the famous horseshoe-shaped staircase , we’ll begin our journey into the heart of one of France’s most beautiful châteaux, following in the footsteps of the French kings, queens, emperors and empresses who have left their mark on the palace’s history and French’s history.
Together, we’ll discover the magnificent Galerie François I, where we’ll marvel at the works of the Italian Renaissance by Primaticcio and Il Rosso, the founders of the École de Fontainebleau. We’ll continue on to the luxurious appartements of the monarchs, furnished in a variety of styles from the Renaissance to the 19th century, including the magnificent and impeccably decorated ballroom. We will then continue our tour with a visit to the appartments of Napoleon I, before finishing on a high note with a visit to the Church of Saint Saturnin.
I’ll be sharing some intriguing anecdotes about the castle’s famous residents. From the visit of Charles V, to Napoleon’s abdication, to the abduction of a pope… not forgetting the filming of Lana del Rey’s music video… We’ll take a behind-the-scenes look at the political intrigues, grandiose ceremonies and historic events that have shaped France’s destiny.
Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a cultural and architectural adventure that has left an indelible mark on the panorama of French history.
