Sylvanie is an amazing person. She speaks fluent English that makes the experience much easier. She is very well traveled and she has a deep understanding of Art and French culture. One of the surprising parts of our conversation was, she has her opinion and her own likings. Yes, she will ask you a question about the painting and what is someone’s take. So it was not a just one person is talking, but it was an ongoing conversation and discussion. I was very impressed with the way she conducted herself. I have done a few tours but this was really a unique and a pleasant experience. Even, after tour what should I visit and what should I do, she was very helpful. Paris has tons of things to do, but if you are visiting Lourve Museum, Go with her! You will get to see from/with a true artist and a historian!

My tour of the Louvre with Sylvanie was really a once in a lifetime experience. I love art history but was completely overwhelmed by the sheer size of the Louvre, and so decided to book a tour – I ended up being the only person on the tour and having Sylvanie all to myself, woohoo!! She was kind, extremely knowledgeable, professional and passionate throughout, and she was eager to answer all my questions. She has a lot of interesting stories specifically about pieces in the Louvre that I would never have been aware of on my own. All in all, it could not have been a better experience. Thank you Sylvanie!

Great tour! So glad that we signed up for a tour because it would have been too overwhelming to go on our own! She had a plan of how to walk thru the main areas and show us everything we would want to see and then some. It felt like we were in a good flow from one room to the next and saw a little bit of everything and all the big pieces we normally would have to search the map for. She definitely had a lot of insider information and was helpful! We had a stroller with a sleeping baby and it worked out well to deal with stairs and elevators. A lot of the stairs we carried the stroller (it folds into a car seat for easy carry) but otherwise if you bring a sleeping baby that you can’t take out, you will expect stairs and it seems like the museum isn’t great access for elevators, some of them were not working fast or at all. It worked for us because we had an infant and it’s more of a reflection of a difficult access at the museum. We also were able to avoid the lines since we had a tour guide, and that’s just priceless in a place like this!

I took this tour in mid-March with my 23-year-old daughter, and we both enjoyed it. Sylvanie explained the history of the building itself, and brought us to see the medieval fortress and moat, and then pointed out the 16th century palace and subsequent additions. She took us to see the most famous works –the Venus de Milo, the Nike of Samothrace, the Mona Lisa, Michelangelo’s Slaves, etc.; we also saw some French paintings, and a mix of other works on our way through many galleries. I recommend this tour–the Louvre is giant and overwhelming, and it’s helpful to have someone to guide you through everything in an orderly and efficient way. Sylvanie is knowledgeable about art, and was good at explaining historical context, etc. When she found out we had some knowledge about art and history, she adjusted her comments and gave more in-depth information. She’s very personable and enthusiastic about art, and that made the tour fun. She also knows where to find the least-crowded toilets, and other helpful things like that! We returned to the Louvre a few days later on our own, and it was helpful that we had had Sylvanie’s orientation–we had a better idea of where to go and what to see.

Sylvanie does an excellent job. She is very personable, and knowledgeable. She makes everyone feel comfortable, listens well, and has a good sense of humor. She shares many insights that are new to group members, and offers a good introduction to the Louvre. She is certainly an asset to the guide team.

If you’re looking for stress-free and super informational time at the Louvre, I’d highly recommend this tour! Sylvanie is very knowledgeable not to mention super personable and easy to talk with. She set great expectations for the tour but was also flexible to make the experience right for the group.

Sylvanie provided expert commentary and equally important “secret toilet” info at this very busy museum. Would definitely recommend her to anyone visiting Paris. She was easy to understand and made the learning experience interesting and fun!

Sylvanie was an excellent host! My father required a wheelchair. She went above and beyond to suggest taking a private tour, securing the wheelchair, and knowing her way around to easily get us elevator access. She was also very knowledgeable of all the important aspects of The Louvre. Highly recommend.
