Housed in the former building used as a train station, the Musée d’Orsay is one of the most famous parisian’s museum. It hosts one of the greatest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist works of art. Believe it or not, the peaceful scenes of the rural and urban lives of the impressionist artists were absolutely shocking when there were painted. The lively colors and the expressive brushstrokes really shook the foundations of the artistic establishment.

Meet your guide at the foot of the Rhinoceros statue in front of the main entrance of the museum. Discover the masterpieces of the french academicism and relive the scandals that took place at the Official Salons during XIXth century because of the new type of painting that was emerging before the creation of the “Salon des Refusés” or Rejected Salon and the Impressionist Salon. Discover and understand the evolution of art towards the impressionism, before enjoying some of the most famous impressionism painting, and finally, discover the collection of Vincent Van Gogh works of art.

  • Tickets for the museum are included in the visit, and will be supplied by your guide.
  • This visit is not unfortunately accessible to the people in wheelchair or people who require a special assistance, nor to the people with baby carriages or strollers.
  • The big bags and backpacks are forbidden in the museum.
  • The Musée d’Orsay is closed on Mondays!
  • After this guided tour, nothing prevents you from staying longer in the museum and from pursuing the exploration.
